Ron also holds membership with The National Association of Nouthetic Counsellors, the only organization that accredits those who counsel exclusively within a biblical framework. Ron served as a counselling pastor in Timmins, Ontario for 5 years and then almost 4 years counselling and training counsellors at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, before returning to Ontario to pursue his ministry vision.</B></div> </tD> </tR> </TABLE></B></div> <div> <B> <TABLE BORDER="0" CELLPADDING="2" CELLSPACING="1" WIDTH="638" BORDERCOLORLIGHT="#C0C0C0" BORDERCOLORDARK="#808080" FRAME="BOX" RULES="ALL" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" > <tR> <tD VALIGN=TOP HEIGHT= 1235 WIDTH="632"><div> <B>From 1991 to 1996 Ron developed Wellspring from Grand Bend on a multi-location model, stretching to some 11 regional offices, and training a staff of an associate and various intern counsellors. In the Fall of 1996 Ron consolidated and centralized the service, moving to Waterloo, Ontario. Ordained as a Christian minister with the Presbyterian Church in North America he is set apart for the work of developing biblical counselling in Southwestern Ontario. Ron has been counselling since 1981 and his counselling and training efforts in this area from 1991 have impacted hundreds of individuals and families. Ron has taken the Deep Change training course to Bible colleges in the Ukraine (1996) and Romania (1997), and has joined the faculty of Carey in 1997. After returning to the Ukraine in 1999 to minister in Kiev Dr. Harris is planning an ongoing ministry of biblical counselling training in this great city.</B><FONT SIZE="3" COLOR="#FFFF33" FACE="Arial" ><B> </B></FONT></div> <bR> <div> <B>Dr Harris has developed a number of lay counsellors to various levels through the years of his counselling ministry, and presently offers a two-course Wellspring Certificate program:</B><I><B> </B></I><FONT SIZE="3" COLOR="#FFFFCC" FACE="Arial" ><A HREF="id27_deep_change.htm" TARGET="_top" TITLE="Training"><U><I><B><U>Deep Change for Hurting People</U></B></I></U></A></FONT><I><B>,</B></I><B> an introductory course in biblical counselling, and</B><A HREF="id27_gyh.htm" TARGET="_top" TITLE="Training"><U><B> </B></U></A><FONT SIZE="3" COLOR="#FFFFCC" FACE="Arial" ><A HREF="id27_gyh.htm" TARGET="_top" TITLE="Training"><U><I><B><U>Guard Your Heart</U></B></I></U></A><A HREF="id27_gyh.htm" TARGET="_top" TITLE="Training"><U><B><U>,</U></B></U></A><B> </B></FONT><B>an intensive specialized follow-up course). In addition Ron works with selected people to develop their counselling ministries, and answers popular errant teaching concerning spiritual warfare with a seminar entitled, </B><FONT SIZE="3" COLOR="#FFFFCC" FACE="Arial" ><A HREF="id27_more_excellent.htm" TARGET="_top" TITLE="Training"><U><I><B><U>A More Excellent Way</U></B></I></U></A></FONT><B>. </B></div> <bR> <div> <B>Ron also served on the faculty of WILLIAM CAREY SCHOOL OF THEOLOGY. Through this international outreach ministry he periodically taught Applied Theology and Counselling in Romania. </B></div> <div> <B>Ron is also a Lecturer of Pastoral Counseling for PURITAN REFORMED THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY in Grand Rapids Michigan.</B><FONT SIZE="3" COLOR="#FFFF33" FACE="Arial" ><B> </B></FONT></div> <bR> <div> <B>From  August 2002 through July 2007 Ron has been Academic Dean of Ukraine Family Institute in Kyiv Ukraine.  It was a dream of Ron's and Mike's for years (though they never knew each other and lived in different countries)  but in fact was officially established by American Mike Linville in 2002, with Canadian Ron and a few Ukrainian top notch translators being the first staff members. Ron wrote and developed the curriculum (willingly, eagerly very much on the shoulders of his ccef and Westminster mentors) as he taught classes in Ukraine and Russia; selected, hired, and continues to train Teaching Associates; urges translations of counselling literature and writes some of his own (now in publishing process in Odessa); and invites guest lecturers at every possible reasonable opportunity. It's been an exciting ministry! God has blessed far above and beyond our expectations. Oh we of little faith!  Though operating on a shoestring budget from day one we have, PRAISE GOD! a very rich 3 year - 12 module curriculum (confirmed in testimonies of students, other former soviet union leaders, and western colleagues) and non-stop between-module training prgram established; a tiny core of gifted solid Teaching Associates, 3 graduate classes and more in process in Ukraine and Russia, hearts and lives incredibly dramatically changed such that our students now eagerly reach out in sermons, bible studies, street ministries, orphan ministries (100,000 orphans in Ukraine) ,and counselling... to touch the lives of over 35,000 people in the former soviet Union.  </B></div> <bR> <div> <B>July 2007:</B><FONT SIZE="3" COLOR="#FFFFFF" FACE="Arial" ><B> Ron resigned his position with Ukraine Family Institute July 13th 2007. He and his wife Linda remain in Ukraine with no desire or plans to leave as they are quite busy with counselling ministry, writing, helping other ministries and new ministry plans for advanced counselling training. </B></FONT></div> <bR> <div> <B>Ron enjoys marriage to Linda since their Ontario Canada wedding in 1975, and together are entrusted with two daughters, Angela Marie (Bryn Mawr PA ,USA,1980) and Dawna Laurie (Bryn Mawr PA, USA,1981), and one son, Noel Adam (Timmins ON, CANADA, 1985). </B></div> <div> Angela is a missionary, elementary school teacher in Cambodia (August 2007). Adam is ministering in Ukraine, studying biblical counselling here under his father, and returns to the west for furhter education 2008. Dawna evangelizes her hair stylist clients in Ottawa Canada with lots of colour and flare!<B> </B>Hey! She said it, not me!
