Would I accept the position as </B><I><B>Academic Dean of </B></I><I><B><U>Ukraine Family Institute</U></B></I><I><B><U> </U></B></I><I><B>... the first such training center in the former Soviet Union? </B></I><B>What an opportunity and honour. Of course!"</B></div> <div> <B>What about the need in Canada?</B><FONT SIZE="2" COLOR="#333333" FACE="Arial" ><B> "I have been counselling in Canada and U.S.A. for over 20 years. My wife and I been serving sacrificially  at home here in Canada for a decade. We have fine  Wellspring Associates to carry on the work and several others at various stages of learning and training. Gather the people for a class and I will gladly return to teach basic or advanced classes once a year." God's Word must continue to spread and change lives. We are each called to that challenge in our spheres of influence, as we are enabled and given opportunity.</B></FONT></div> <bR> <div> <B>For many years we have had </B></div> <div> <B>UKRAINE ON THE BRAIN! It started in </B></div> </tD> </tR> </TABLE></I></div> <div> <B> <TABLE BORDER="0" CELLPADDING="2" CELLSPACING="1" WIDTH="727" BORDERCOLORLIGHT="#C0C0C0" BORDERCOLORDARK="#808080" FRAME="BOX" RULES="ALL" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" > <tR> <tD VALIGN=TOP HEIGHT= 567 WIDTH="721"><div> <B>1996, if not before, since I, Linda , was in constant contact with a dear American lady over there (Diane McMurrin) since 1992. After short term mission trips including Romania, then our Spring 1999 teaching experiences in Ukraine, we most seriously considered moving over to Kyiv, the capital city of Ukraine. However,  recognizing Ron's need for an experienced administrator or two... and because of several other local and family factors, plus Ukrainian plates being "full" with mere physical survival demands and  new teaching such that they were not quite ready to handle more in depth specialized counselling teaching and</B><B> training of nationals ... we reluctantly held back. We and Ukrainians wholeheartedly agreed the NEED was and is intense, but the timing was not right. Now, 2002, the door has opened wide. It is still not convenient for us, but the opportunities have opened far beyond anyone's expectations and so we have agreed to go. Our 3 children (ages 21, 20 , 16) are in full support of this decision, though much prayer is needed for their various options these next years.  Our youngest would definitely go with us. </B></div> <bR> <div> <B>Briefly, it happened this way. While we were being drawn increasingly towards Ukraine, totally unkown to us God was moving a gifted American pastor and administrator to start a counselling training center in their captial city of 3 million people. (Ukraine is 50 million) This man, Rev. Mike Linville, has lived with his family in Kyiv for 4 years and founded Ukraine Bible Institute. </B><B>The day of Ron's and my (Linda's) 26th wedding </B><B>anniversary, we received and email from this stranger that began an adventure which at present (6 months later) feels like we have all </B><FONT SIZE="2" COLOR="#669966" FACE="Arial" ><I><B> "grabbed hold of a rocket!"</B></I></FONT><B> Part of that initial correspondance involved Ron being invited to be academic dean of Ukraine Family Institue. Classes are scheduled to begin September 2002. Though Ron coninues to work full time here as counsellor and teacher/trainer, he has been diligently working on writing and compiling the curriculum and translated and yet-to-be translated books and other materials.  The timeline is an impossible task humanly speaking, yet,since that October 11th 2001 email we have seen God move swiftly and powerfully on both sides of the globe. </B><A HREF="http://www.worldteam.org" TARGET="_top" TITLE="http://www.worldteam.org"><U><B><U>World Team Canada </U></B></U></A><B>will be our sending agency. (200 year history) Why not PCA's MTW sending us, since Ron is ordained PCA? Because we need a CANADIAN sending agency or church. Our present (2001-2002) local church is mighty but small, as it just began May 2001. If you have been on our email list you too have shared in the many surprises and encouragements. You and I live in exciting times. Though some days or years can be unnerving our security remains as always in Christ. The fruit has been astounding.
