THANK YOU Again! for the wonderful Canadian friends and family hospitality and ministry help during our recent 6 weeks in Canada. That plus 3 wonderful days by Lake Huron Ontario has us back here emerging from jetlag into full tilt ministry again. UFI staff has been working well while we were away, but full tilt is actually a very legitimate present challenge! (See “Module 3 Is Upon Us” for details.) Also, I got Ron's laptop computer going again but it still has some unnerving surprises now and again. Needs a doctor? Anyway, it IS great to be back in the Kyiv blessings and quirks! (Got all the water treats first week back, and eaten by bugs before we taped up some screening. Never plan showers or phone calls for the last minute here in Ukraine. Fun!)

MODULE 3 is upon us! July 14-25. We've been back in Kyiv almost 7 days and have received wonderfully warm welcomes from Americans and Ukrainians as well as interesting challenges to module 3. We are not experiencing people or groups opposed to Ukraine Family Institute's next module , ( which centers on lessons from the book of Job!), but the rain falls on the just and the unjust and our UFI staff is experiencing a bit of a deluge now. Help! As you know, our work and modules have been blessed by God far above and beyond our expectations so far, yet each intensive week of training has been preceded by unusual pressures. UFI is a praying group. Ron and I and EVERY UFI STAFF MEMBER PRAY EVERY MORNING on workdays and sometimes more, so handling the following with prayer is nothing new, but none-the-less extremely important to us all. So…. all of you already up to your neck in contributing to the wonderful spiritual blessings going on over here in Former-Soviet-Union-land … please keep praying us through the surprise hurdles and battles too! Here's our UFI Team's latest list: Module 3 Needs! …Or …
“What Happens When You Study Job!”
(Module 3 centres on lessons from the book of Job)

Operations Manager ARTYOM is one of the two main interpreters for Ron's
teaching. Without a sharp gifted interpreter the teacher is nothing! Artyom lost his voice Wednesday. This is somewhat mysterious, and possibly it is contagious. He wisely decided to stay home Thursday and Friday to rest up for the marathon (two weeks of 30 hour lectures, plus administrative matters). Please pray for God's mercy and gracious healing Hand upon our team member.
Teaching Associate VALYA, one of the two TAs Ron hired and who oversees the second
class of some 30 students, has to make a critical medical decision. Her doctor informed her Wednesday that there needs to be a gall bladder/stone operation immediately. That plus recouperation would be 2 to 4 weeks. The doctor wouldn't budge when Valya told him of the important two weeks work ahead of her. Valya needs wisdom to discern the wise course and to get the necessary data to determine degree of true risk.
Teaching Associate SERGEI, Ron's other TA, greeted Ron last Monday (the first day back in
the office), and then left, with Ron's approval, for seminary courses - this week and next. Even though he would miss the prep week and his class of students the first week, Ron encouraged him to complete this course. (Sergei has only one more course to complete for his M Div, and this degree will be an important credential as we think of the future of UFI.) Sergei is a sacrificial servant (like other UFI staff & Students), and plans to join his students for the late afternoons and evenings this next week. Pray for strength, that he would stand up under the tremendous load.
Aaaaaaaarrrggg!!! for us but we pray God's blessing for her. Assistant Administrator
LEANNA will be leaving for Indiana State University, under a teaching fellowship, to do graduate studies in the area of cross-cultural communications. It has been amazing through the last 11 months how many glitches and difficulties have been before Leanna in the application process. Even with email, communication has been fraught with trials. Finally Monday Leanna was approved here in Kyiv for a student visa, but could not be granted the visa because her name was not on some list of international students. Yet another glitch. With all the realities of moving her life to Indiana in a matter of weeks, pray for Leanna, our bright extremely gifted translator and interpreter. Pray for focus and ability to give her all to her last module with UFI...(at least for a while!)

Welcome OLYA Matvichuk!
Olya is LEANNA's successor, as assistant to Artyom. Both Leanna and Olya will be at Module 3, and Leanna along with Artyom will continue training Olya on site during Module 3.
~ Pray for God's grace to knit
us together as there is an adjustment: Olya with us while Leanna continues for a few more weeks.
~ Student Concerns. At least 2 students have had serious health
issues and storms in their families. Photos of each student, and regular reports keep each in our prayers daily. Such potential in Ukraine & Russia and it is already multiplying in churches, small groups, and with strangers, families and friends.

100 Russian Men!!!
The train from Krasnodar Russia to Kiev is 26 hrs. one way and the cost is beyond reach for most from that area interested in attending UFI. While our esteemed Ukraine Family Institute President Mike Linville, and the rest of the UFI Team wrestled in prayer over the urgent need and request to expand UFI into Krasnodar Russia, finally deciding it just would not be wise to do just yet, it seems God was leading and moving at least one of our present 3 Russian students to attack the lodging and food costs problem, as well as opt for a module by module approach, since we just cannot offer all 12 out of Kiev yet. It seems this amazing lady has succeeded in finding 60 students in Krasnodar plus likely 100 men to a Black Sea location with food and lodging covered for module 1 in each place! Wow! We shall see … continuing to walk in great diligence and faith.

PRAY FOR OUR ESTEEMED UFI PRESIDENT MIKE LINVILLE!!! as…
… he labours in fundraising and the above and more decision-making … from his home in Indianna… visiting Kiev periodically yet longing to visit so much more.

Peeling Ron Off The Ceiling!
The “Christian Counselor's Manual”
by Jay Adams … just translated into Russian! arrived the end of May, just as we left for Canada. Here Leanna (left) and two Teaching Associates Sergei & Valya, break open this valuable resource. Sooooooo many blessings since we first arrived 11 months ago. So energizing to Ron and the team, and I hope for you. RON faces another teaching marathon. Pray for God to uphold Ron physically. Pray for sharpness of thinking, especially in the second week. In modules 1 and 2 God energized Ron through the eagerness and vitality of the students. The team will meet at 8:30 each morning to pray. We recognize that this is God's work and must be done looking to Him. His Spirit is the Inward Teacher, and any fruitfulness comes only from Him. Pray for Ron.

Adam is genuinely excited about life in general but also specifically finishing English then heading for Redeemer University College this Fall. (Ancaster Ontario)
Angela and Dawna continue to be working girls in our nation's capital city , Ottawa. Both are investigating further education options as well. All 3 enjoy church and many Christian friends and ministry opportunities.
Ron and Linda are actually beginning to enjoy the empty nest here in Kiev.
